Brief Description:

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) California is pleased to announce the ACEC California’s Scholarship. As a statewide organization, they are dedicated to enhancing the consulting engineering and land surveying professions, protecting the general public and promoting the use of the private sector in the growth and development of their state. According to eligibility, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time in an engineering or land-surveying curriculum and graduate students must be enrolled at least as half time students in an engineering or land-surveying curriculum.

Host Institution:

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) California is a 50 plus year-old, a non-profit association of private consulting engineering and land surveying firms.  ACEC California is the nation’s largest Member Organization in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

Eligibility:

  • Be scheduled to enter their junior, senior, fifth or graduate year in the Fall of 2018. Students graduating in December 2018 are not eligible
  • Be enrolled as follows:
  1. Undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time in an engineering or land-surveying curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  2. Graduate students must be enrolled at least as half time students in an engineering or land-surveying curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • Be working toward a degree in engineering or land surveying as follows:
  1. Upper division students must be working toward a degree in a state board-approved engineering or land surveying program.
  2. Graduate students must be working toward a graduate degree in an institution having a state board-approved undergraduate program in the major encompassing the specialty graduate degree, such as civil engineering encompassing environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, etc.
  • Meet the following minimum grade point average requirements:
  1. For ACEC California’s State Competition: Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 in completed engineering and land surveying courses and a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  2. For ACEC’s National Competition (if selected as ACEC California’s scholarship nominee): Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in completed engineering and/or land surveying courses and a minimum overall grade point average of 3.2 on a scale of 4.0.
  3. Be interested in the possibility of pursuing a career in consulting engineering or land surveying.
  4. Be a United States Citizen.

  • Official Transcript: only mailed under separate cover by your school to ACEC California.

Award Description:

  • Every year, the ACEC California’s Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships are ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 each to deserving college students who are working toward a degree in engineering and/or land surveying.
  • The top award recipient is nominated to apply for the ACEC National scholarship competition!
  • For this scholarship year, they plan on giving up to $40,000 in scholarships to students!
