The BMI Foundation, Inc. would like to announce its annual scholarship program named as “The Nashville Songwriting Scholarship”. The scholarship is open to a current college or university students who are between the ages of 17 and 24 as of the time of submission. The scholarship is intended to encourage and support aspiring country music songwriters nationwide.
The BMI Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by executives of Broadcast Music Incorporated for the purpose of “encouraging the creation, performance, and study of music through awards, scholarships, internships, grants, and commissions.
All Scholarship applicants must be:
- Current student at a U.S. college or university
- Between the ages of 17 and 24 as of time of submission
- No rights to the submitted work may have been assigned to a major music publisher or to a major record label
- Is not a prior BMI Foundation Nashville Songwriting Scholarship winner (excluding Honorable Mentions)
