Brief Description:

The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation would like to announce “Udall Undergraduate Scholarship”. Sophomore or junior-level college student at a two-year or four-year accredited institution of higher education in the United States, pursuing a bachelor‘s or associate’s degree during the 2017-2018 academic year are invited to apply. The Udall Foundation’s programs promote leadership, education, collaboration, and conflict resolution in the areas of environment, public lands, and natural resources in order to strengthen Native nations.

Host Institution:

The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation is an Executive Branch office of the United States Government. The foundation was established by the Congress in 1992 to honor Morris Udall’s thirty years of service in the House of Representatives.

Eligibility:

You are encouraged to apply if you are

  • Sophomore or junior-level college student at a two-year or four-year accredited institution of higher education in the United States, pursuing a bachelor’s or associate’s degree during the 2017-2018 academic year.
  • Applicants will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree full-time during the 2018-2019 academic year; and
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident.

  • In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must write an 800-word essay on a speech, legislative act, book, or public policy statement by either Morris K. Udall or Stewart L. Udall and its impact on your interests and goals.

  • Three letters of recommendation that speak to your leadership, public service and academic achievements.

Award Description:

  • The financial aspect of the Udall Scholarship can be used toward tuition, fees, books and supplies, and room and board.
  • It can be used to cover these expenses at an institution other than your home institution, with additional documentation.
