Brief Description:

The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church is pleased to announce Mt. Zion College Textbook Stipend. Current member of Mt. Zion who is enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university are invited to apply. The fellowship is designed to support the student to achieve their goal.

Host Institution:

The first Sunday school for Mount Zion was started in the Sumter County Court House with about ten members around 1894. During this time, there was not a permanent pastor. The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter is an organized body of Baptist believers, equal in rank and privilege, has as its mission to exalt Jesus Christ as the savior, and to proclaim his Gospel through Christian education as mandated in Matthew 28: 19-20.

Eligibility:

You are encouraged to apply if you are

  • Current member of Mt. Zion
  • Enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university
  • Full-time status ( 12 credits minimum)
  • Submit an official class list or proof of current enrollment on school letterhead
  • No older than 25 years
