Brief Description:

The NBCUniversal/LNESC is pleased to be able to offer “The NBCUniversal/LNESC Scholarship”. The purpose of LNESC is to implement education and leadership programs that narrow the opportunity gap for America’s disadvantaged youth. The scholarship program is intended to assist and encourage outstanding Latino students with an interest in the media and entertainment industry pursue a bachelor’s degree at a U. S. post-secondary institution.

Host Institution:

LULAC National Educational Service Centers, Inc. (LNESC) is a 501 (c) (3) national non-profit organization established in 1973. As the educational arm of LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens, the nation’s oldest Hispanic civil rights organization), LNESC is uniquely prepared to initiate programs aimed at meeting the academic and social needs of its target communities.


To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Must be a college sophomore or junior enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.
  • Must be a U. S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
  • Must have an interest in the media and entertainment industry; all majors are welcome.

Award Description:

  • The NBCUniversal/LNESC Scholarship Program will award ten (10) $5,000 national scholarships.
  • The scholarship award of $5,000 will be divided into two equal disbursements of $2,500 made in the fall and spring.
