Simin S. Mostofi Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Simin S. Mostofi, the University of Utah establishes a scholarship program termed as “Simin S. Mostofi Memorial Scholarship”. To be eligible, the student must be anticipating graduating June 2018 from East High School, Salt Lake City, Utah, and be incoming first-year students at the University of Utah. The winner of the scholarship program will get $1,500.

Host Institution:

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion sometimes called The Woodlands Pavilion or simply The Pavilion is a concert amphitheater located in The Woodlands, Texas, and an outer suburb of Houston, Texas. The University of Utah is a top-tier research and higher education institution nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be a student who has overcome obstacles in the pursuit of Academic Excellence.
  • The applicant must be anticipating graduating June 2018 from East High School, Salt Lake City, Utah, and be an incoming first-year student at the University of Utah.
  • The applicant must have a minimum high school g.p.a. of 3.0.
  • The applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree in the College of Humanities.

Supporting Documents:

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A personal statement must be written by the student: Your statement should include: your educational goals, what obstacles you have overcome in pursuit of academic excellence and the reasons why you believe you are qualified for this scholarship.
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community figure.
  • A copy of your high school transcript(s).
