Michigan Technological University is pleased to offer “Create Your Success Scholarship (CYSS)” for Michigan residents. Michigan and non-Michigan residents who are new incoming first-year undergraduate students can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship offers extraordinary academic support, guidance, and encouragement to students in a collaborative setting through the ExSEL Program (Excelling the Student Experience of Learning).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned PhD or equivalent degree in engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Administrative experience at or above a level equivalent to a department chair or
    head leading in an academic institution or in a research-oriented organization.
  • Experience in managing and leading PhD-level (or equivalent) engineers and/or
  • Experience in promoting a culture of safety as a professional value and an essential
    component of day-to-day activities.
  • Experience in developing and/or maintaining a safe, diverse, inclusive, welcoming,
    and equitable environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching at the college level.
  • Record of independent and collaborative scholarship consistent with that expected
    for a professor in the CoE.
  • Experience in fostering interdisciplinary research and/or entrepreneurial activities.
  • Experience in generating resources through coordinated fundraising efforts.

The Michigan Technological University is pleased to announce the School of Business and Economics Impact Scholarship. The scholarship program is open to first-year students enrolling in their first fall semester at Michigan Technological University. High school seniors (who are U.S. residents) planning to major in accounting, economics, engineering management, finance, general business, management, management information systems, or marketing are encouraged to apply. The program recognizes resident and nonresident high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership experience and academic success both in and outside the classroom

  • Students should be able to showcase leadership skills and experience as well as demonstrate the potential to succeed at Michigan Tech.
  • In general, applicants should meet the following academic guidelines:
  • 00 or higher cumulative GPA at time of application (on a 4.00 scale)
  • ACT composite score of 23 or higher or a new SAT total score of 1140 or higher

Award Description:

  • One student will be awarded an annual scholarship equivalent to full-time resident tuition. Additional students will receive scholarships valued up to $7,000 per year.
  • The awards are renewable for four years (eight semesters) of study.
