At the UW Department of Global Health, there is a “Global and Rural Health Fellowship” program available. Students who have graduated from an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program and must be either board certified or board can apply for the fellowship. The department mission is to train the next generation of leaders in medical and surgical fields to bring dignified, justice-oriented, and sustainable improvements to the healthcare of vulnerable populations within global and local communities.

Host Institution:

Through a generous gift and endowment from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and complementary Washington State resources, the UW Department of Global Health was established in 2007, bridging the schools of Medicine and Public Health, with a mandate to harness the expertise and interdisciplinary power of all 16 UW schools and colleges.

This scholarship program is applicable for:

  • Eligible applicants for this fellowship must have graduated from an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program and must be either board certified or board eligible.
  • Applicants must be a permanent resident of the United States.
