Brief Description:

The Tom Joyner Foundation is committed to sharing all that is good about HBCUs.  Hence they are pleased to announce the TJF Fine Arts Scholarship Program. The program is open to all HBCU students who are attending a Tom Joyner Foundation supported the school with no limitations on majors.Three (3) deserving students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will receive a scholarship from the Tom Joyner Foundation. The goal of the program is – to continue the legacy of the right to be creative and expressing one’s visual qualities.

Host Institution:

The Tom Joyner Foundation has provided necessary support to every HBCU in its 19-year history to help sustain and preserve the legacies of these valuable institutions.It was founded in 1998 as the brainchild of nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner. The mission of the Foundation is to support historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with scholarships, endowments, and capacity-building enhancements.

Eligibility:

All Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) students, who are attending a Tom Joyner Foundation supported the school with no limitations on majors, are eligible to apply.

Instructions for Applying:

Supporting Documents:

  • Students who are visual arts majors must submit a link to a sample of one piece of their artwork or photography, including the name of the piece, the inspiration behind the work and if a painting or sketch, the medium.
  • To apply, students must submit a piece of art on, “Hidden Treasures By Any Means Necessary Through Art”. Submit one (1) sample of a piece of your work via an attached photo.

Award Description:

Three (3) deserving students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will receive a $1,000 (3rd place), $1,500 (2nd place) and $2,000 (1st place) scholarship from the Tom Joyner Foundation.
