Brief Description:

The United Negro College Fund or UNCF is pleased to announce the Oracle Impact Scholarship Program to students who are either a resident of Northern California or a graduate of a Chicago public school. The program is open to matriculating students who are attending an accredited four-year college or university. The program provides scholarship support to African American and Hispanic American students majoring in computer science, computer engineering or mathematics.

Host Institution:

The United Negro College Fund, or UNCF, is an American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically black colleges and universities. UNCF was incorporated on April 25, 1944, by Frederick D. Patterson (then president of what is now Tuskegee University), Mary McLeod Bethune, and others. UNCF is headquartered at 1805 7th Street, NW in Washington, D.C.

Eligibility:

To be considered, candidates must submit meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must reside in or be a permanent resident of the state of California, specifically Northern California. Eligible counties include- Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano or
  • Candidates must be graduates of the Chicago public schools.
  • Candidates can be either a resident of Northern California or a graduate of a Chicago public school.
  • African American and Hispanic American students majoring in computer science, computer engineering or mathematics.
  • Preference is given to students attending a UNCF member institution or other HBCU.
  • Applicants must be a matriculating student attending an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Academic Classification: college freshman, college sophomore, college junior, college senior, college 5th-year senior
