At the University of Central Florida an internship program is available for students who must be accepted into the College of Education and Human Performance at the time of application. Internship placements are distributed at the UCF orientation. Internship I students are usually enrolled in co-requisite courses during the internship. Internship II is considered a full-time experience.
The University of Central Florida, or UCF, is an American metropolitan public research university in Orlando, Florida. It is the largest university in the United States by undergraduate enrollment, as well as the largest enrollment at a single campus. Founded in 1963 by the Florida Legislature, UCF opened in 1968 as Florida Technological University, with the mission of providing personnel to support the growing U.S. space program at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Florida’s Space Coast.
To be eligible for Internship, students must meet the following requirements:
- Students must be accepted into the College of Education and Human Performance at the time of application, possess an overall 2.5 GPA as well as a 2.5 GPA in professional preparation and specialization.
- Eligibility for internship is also outlined on the Clinical Experiences website in the Student Teaching Handbook: A Guide for Internship and Clinical Practice. Please refer to your specific program requirements in the university catalog.
- Have passed all parts of the General Knowledge Test (GKT) and/or the CLAST prior to the Internship I start date.
